Community Guidelines

Last updated: June 2026

ChapterSwaps is built around kindness, trust, and a shared love of books. These guidelines help keep the community a great place for everyone.

Be Respectful

Treat fellow readers the way you'd like to be treated. Everyone here shares a love of books — that's a great starting point. Be patient, be kind, and assume good intentions.

Be Honest

Describe your books accurately — their condition, edition, and any notable wear. If something isn't quite right with a swap, communicate openly rather than leaving the other person guessing.

Ship Promptly

Once you accept a swap request, aim to ship within a few days. Other readers are excited to receive their book! If something comes up and you need more time, just let them know.

Leave Fair Reviews

Reviews help build trust in the community. Be honest but fair — a minor crease on a spine isn't the end of the world, but a book listed as "Like New" that arrives water-damaged is worth mentioning.

Report Issues Fairly

If something goes wrong with a swap, raise it calmly and provide accurate information. We're here to help resolve things, but we need the full picture to do so fairly.

What Happens If Guidelines Are Broken

We take community safety seriously. Depending on the severity, we may issue a warning, temporarily restrict your account, or remove you from the platform entirely. Repeat or serious violations (fraud, harassment, abuse) will result in immediate removal.
